A new era will soon begin in WoW Classic: Wrath of the Lich King Classic is expected to start the beta phase in a few weeks. Accordingly, the developers have announced that the service for cloning characters in the Burning Crusade will soon be switched off. Until then, you can use the service again with a rich discount.
clone service now 66 percent cheaper
So far, the character clone service allowed you to create a clone of one of your characters. This clone then corresponded to the condition of the respective character shortly before the pre-patch of Burning Crusade Classic on May 18, 2021. You could use the clone on a TBC or a WoW Classic server. For a fee, you could also twice cloning to continue playing with the same hero in TBC and WoW Classic (buy now).
According to Blizzard, however, this service will be hired on July 26, 2022 - which is certainly related to the upcoming Wotlk Beta. Characters for which you have not yet decided whether you want to continue playing in WoW Classic or TBC are automatically transferred to The Burning Crusade Classic. The Classic version of your character then decays and cannot be restored.
If you want to play a certain character in both TBC and WoW Classic, you will currently get a 66 percent discount for the clone service. This discounted price applies until the service is switched off on July 26, 2022. Whether Blizzard will provide a similar service for Wotlk again at a later date remains open.
